Well that's just fuckin typical! Every year it's the weekend of my birthday n I'm always gettin there late because of work, so this year I planned ahead and booked my birthday weekend off, THIS WEEKEND!! Brilliant, why........WHY ODIN WHYYYIIIIIIEEEEEAAARRGH!!!
I'll tell you why, because I'm workin the next one, the fuckin beerfest weekend!!
So yeah, probably not for me, not full on anyway, not like last year, meh!!
Can't tonight. Just got home and I feel dead. I'd be less fun and enthusiastic than usual. I'll be ready for bed in about an hour. I'll buy you two drinks next time we are out, to make up for it.
Crying off this event folks as I've had a week from hell and I need to sit on my arse and chill for the weekend as next week will be worse. Having a shitty hangover is a deffo no-go.
Got Nate for the night, some brandy and some cool films to watch on my billy & I'm giddy for it, have one for me & please boo that shitty band.

Ste, or anyone who has Mark Young's number, could you give him a shout to see if he fancies it. I mentioned it to him the other day and he seemed keen.
Saw Daz at Asda before, he's proper skint and upset about it. He was going to go tonight with Bob but alas it's a no-goer. We were comparing whoops food we've just bought, Daz won with 40p bread.
Fun2b playbarn tomorrow for two generations of male bonding if anyone fancies it. I've got a funny beerfest story you can pass on to the gang tomorrow Stu.

I knew Goerner was going to be going as his favourite band 'No Stamp Required', who play the same set every year, are going to be there.
I'll admit it, I do like them now. I used to dislike them and have occasionally shouted "You suck". However, I admit now that was probably a bit mean. They seem like nice people that play one gig a year and enjoy it. They may not be the best musicians, singers or performers but they have a go and keep most people reasonably entertained. They are not so bad that we are forced to leave when they start. They are not so loud that you can't keep talking when they are on. They are easily ignored when playing rubbish songs but can be engaged when playing something good, like the Quo. They do a cracking job of being a background to the beer. They don't try to command attention, they just let you get on with drinking and offer some light musical entertainment if you are interested. They have become part of the beerfest and to be fair to them, the beerfest wouldn't be the same without them. Imagine drinking a warm fruity beer without watching the fine selection of Dad dancing people doing the twist to The Mavericks. Or seeing someone’s nan or grandad shouting "Who the fuck is Alice?" while going red due to the over excitement caused by shouting rude words. Its all very English. Low key, low budget, no pretentiousness, just getting on with the job and putting the effort in. It took me a while to realise it but now I can see that they are the right band, at the right time, in the right place to make the beefest what it is.
