I was flipping through the music channels earlier, got to Kerrang and on came a video called 'Death To All But Metal' by a band called Steel Panther. I was a little skeptical at first, but it was actually pretty good for what it was - basically the American version of Enforcer. I also liked the video, for reasons that will become apparent if you ever see it.
Plus the leads were plentiful and ripping, which is always nice.
Been meaning to check these out ever since I found an album existed called 'feel the steel', they're playing Donny so I'll have a wander over, or lay on the floor drunk, either way it's all good.

Steel Panther are superb. I saw them in LA last year and they're fucking hilarious. The best part is they're all amazing musicians and play the covers they do better than the original bands did!
Oh and loads of birds get their knockers out at the gigs to.

I'm not too sure how to take them, the songs are funny alright. But i get a little off put by any satirical band, as music is something i take more seriously than comedy and to use one as a platform for another makes me wonder.
Basically it seems that the comedy is more important than the music and as such i can't give them total commitment.
Also the Enforcer comparison is a bit unfair as Enforcer are waaaaaaaay better songwriters.... well from a musical perspective.

haha, we did actually meet at the gig in Birm for about 20 seconds. I was with the Dr Death bois for that "tour". I remember the Rev singing over the Crowning Glory singer during their set.
Enforcer are bloody special and i hope they can get over here again soon.

Just had proper chance to check them out, they have everything that I love about rock music, even if it is in self-parody format. The only problem is that their lyrics and the vocals are cringeworthy dogshit and too low range for a glam band.
Why listen to a parody of it when Extreme & poison are still going strong? Death to all but metal video is great with the sound down, throw crue's livewire over the top and IT'S FUCKING ON!
