What Band Are You Into Currently?

Because we all have phases of loving certain abnds n fade in n out of stuff, what are you guys into now?

I am reeeallly digging stoner rock at the moment and some classic rock. Its all lovely. Sleep and The Sword are my favourites at the moment though. The Sword were top opening for Metallica, shame the sound wasnt tip top. I will definatly watch them again when they tour.

I have been listening to Entombeds first album a bit. The buzzsaw guitar tone is sexy as fuck. Bloodbath managed to get almost the exact same guitar tone on their first album, it makes me happy.

They all pretty much sound the same.

Maximum killing capacity is great though. Not heard anything after 2000 to be honest.

hey Dan, if you are loving sleep, try the following stoner doom bands:

Goatsnake
Warhorse
Cathedral
saviours (bit more like high on fire, but still great)

oh and the album "voice of god" by sloth if you can find that anywhere, like an even doomier version of sleep.

and if you love entombed and dismember, give "souless"by GRAVE and "spit or swallow" by KONKHRA a try,  chainsaw guitar mania, awesome stuff!

The others there i have not heard. But i realllllly like Cathedral. I first heard them this time-ish last year in London. Beautiful band. Lee Dorian is too good.

Sean saw Cathedral live in 2004 and had no idea of who the band ever was, he totally regrets it.

Just got the Exivious album and have listened to it constantly. I think it's one of the best things i've ever heard.

As for Dismember, I think 'Like an Ever Flowing Stream' is like their equivalent of Clandestine.

I never got into them really 'cos they just didn't sound as cool as entombed and I didn't think much to their vocalist. Mind you, Entombed have totally gone to shit these days. Jesus the remaining original guitarist can't even play their songs live, it was embarassing to watch!!

I'm of the school of when a guitarist quits, if the remainders decide not to replace them it's never the same. Entombeds live sound just feels thin and boring now, I'm not arsed even if they get a hired hand in kareoke style.

I love Entombed to death but yeah, that latest wasn't their best.
