He did nothing of any note in the last ten years. Him dying now isn't a loss to music at all because he hadn't been involved with music for so long.

Such a sad story. Apparently he used painkillers a lot - they lead to heart problems if you use them a lot, just look at Eddie Guerrero or any other wrestler who died prematurely.

Sad for his kids.

I'm sure they will be on the case soon enough. The laws of defamation don't appy if you are dead, they can say what they like now without the pesky business of a court case.

Not entirely true, In US Law, the estate or family of the deceased still bring a defamation case on behalf of the deceased but as you can see, no damages awarded so what will happen is the media would say anything they want and a long pointless court case would kick in. The only real winners, as ever, the extortionate lawyers

It is proposed that a cause of action will be made available to a representative of a deceased person or a surviving spouse, parent, child or sibling. This cause of action would only be available within three years of the person's death. Damages would not be available; the remedies would be a correction order, declaration and/or injunction."
