Along with it being a very very bad style of music, i feel offended when i hear it. Each band does the exact same thing, and they all seem to act the same and all seem to be promoters. Kudos to Thrasherdave from UK Thrash for pissing on Ted Mauls tent.
With that said, hardcore is one of the only styles of music that can exist without a label doing all the work as hardcore folk believe that nothing is delivered on a platter, hence the 'having your shit together' punk DIY ethic.
All you have to do is dig around and there are some fantastic bands out, just bulked out with similar wannabe shite, same as everything else.

SSS make their own vinyl, organise thrash gigs all over the show, print off & distribute their own shirts and merch. The only thing they don't do is distribute their album.

Whats wrong with hardcore? I find its a great prefect for raising the level of a driveway or for building a sturdy foundation level for any building project.
As thrashduck says, there are some gems out there in hardcore land. Only problem is those wankers who do shadow karate at the front of gigs, i never really understood that.
