Delux Steakwich

I made this last night. It was so good that I thought it deserved its own thread.

The Delux Steakwich!

It was made using half a cross hatch baton, buttered and the bottom layer was covered with blueberry jam. I cooked a sirloin steak in the oven and towards the end of cooking I covered it with Bavarial smoked cheese. Being a processed cheese it melted into a splendid goop without burning or going crispy. While the cheese was melting I did two fried eggs, being sure to make the yolks dippy but the white crispy. I then assembled it as seen below. It was ace!

Here it is with a can of coke, for size comparison.

The bread was crispy on the crust but soft on the inside. Just the way I like it.

To complement the meat and the cheese. Thats why I only put it on the bottom layer. I didn't think having it directly on the egg would work.

Jam and steak, you've actually gone mental this time.

Jam and steak sounds a little strange, but i can imagine it being tasty.  When i used to eat meat, there was nothing wrong with turkey with cranberry or lamb with a touch of mint jelly.

In his defence it does look like blackcurrant jam, which is king-fucking-jam around these here parts.
