The last three albums you listened to...

Alright fellas, just interested in the last three albums you listened to and your opinions of them.
It must be the last three and it doesn't matter if they are old or brand spanking new!

I'll start with;

Infected nation - Evile. Not bad, musically better than enter the grave, but why do the vocals sound like the ones on Meshuggah - Contradictions collapse?

Kilswitch engage 2009 - kilswitch engage. - Like it alot, even though there are some weird emo type harmonies in it.

Endgame - Megadeth. think it's a grower, but it's pretty good all the same, gonna give this a few more listens.

I hardly ever listen to full albums, I tend to just let iTunes shuffle away or stick the radio on. However, I do sometimes listen to them on Spotify. I just checked and according to the search list, the last 3 albums I listened to are as follows :

The Best of Classic Rock - London Symphony Orchestra - This is ace stuff. Needs more vocals though, its mostly instrumental. I want it all and the final countdown are truly awsome. In fact, its so good I have it on right now. Also, the album art work has a Knight charging into battle with a lance, I don't know why but it seems quite fitting.

Has Been - William Shatner - I enjoyed it, it was surprisingly relaxing. Its more spoken word than singing but it works well. his Common people cover is both amusing and sinister at the same time.

To the extreme - Vanilla Ice - This isn't the fine quality rap I remember it being. The lyrics and music are pretty poor really, it is very of its time and, aside from a few songs, hasn't aged well. That being said, I did listen to the whole album, while doing some house work, and enjoyed it. Probably more for the nostalgia element.

Ensiferum - From Afar: The more i listen to it the more i like and love it, it does have a few odd tracks but overall it's good, still prefer the earlier stuff though.

Suidakra - Crogacht: The only album i like of theirs.

HOD - Surge Kill Steal: As soon as i started listening to the album i got a nose bleed and my ears fell off.

Megadeth - Endgame
First track was enough for me to realise the album was good shit. They've pushed no boundries or anything, no song makes me want to do a wank everywhere, but it's just a solid release that's a sound listen.

Vertical Horizon - On The Run
Their best album to date. They've just taken the thing I liked most from the last three releases and made an album out of it. Superb sexy jizz time.

Guthrie Govan - Erotic Cakes
This shit is just prime. What a mentally good musician. Each track is just a masterpiece of guitar rapery. Everyone should watch him on YouTube and go "Wheeeee!!!"

Last albums listened to oldest first

Been decorating so its all albums complete rather than shuffle skip listen to intro bollocks.

Obscura - Cosmogenesis - beautifully executed tech death metal faultless.

Strunz & Farah - Americas - Flamenco Guitar Duo excellence make you feel like your on holiday in some spanking hot sun

Megadeth - Endgame - been streaming it from the myspace and Its fucking EPIC as fuck I was right to be excited, more solos less vocals great idea. Broderick fucking whips the more I hear the better it gets and the complete cd is on its way according to the email amazon sent me yeah no more compressed myspace sound.

Erotic Cakes is Fucking Amazing, was watching some video of someone talking about him and apperently he cannot drive a car nor swim but yes he can rape his guitar every which way but loose.

Wormphlegm- Tomb of the Ancient King

Three songs of epic proportions. Only for the "experienced" Funeral Doom listeners. Extremely inaccessible.

Electric Wizard- Dopethrone

Modern classic, this one gets a lot of plays from me.

Moondark- The Shadowpath

Old School Swedish death metal with one of the best guitar tones I've ever heard.

He doesn't need to drive, he either time travels via 500nps shredding or flies on the notes of splender.

On actual CD disk my last three were

Star Wars OST
£3.50 as a total bargin from CEX in town, 2cds of all the classics and yes, the cantina band too. Played in the car for the past week but had my fill now.

Dozer - Through the eyes of heathens
Back of the stack repeat play for reminders of how nice they sound. Proof the stoner doesn't have to follow a black sabbath pattern.

Johnny Cash / Willie Nelson
VH1 Storytellers - Ruck Rubin inspired live unplugged concert of just two old / cool as fuck blokes with lots of songs to sing together complete with bodged chords and Nelson blowing cash away on the guitar (ha, that's the first time my guitar's ever been played). Heartbreaking stuff. Shocking that it's ten years old already.

Cynic - Traced In Air
The best.

Bigelf - Cheat The Gallows
Listened to the album, went "that was good" - went to see them live and now the album is amazing. Retro rock n roll prog. Amazing.

HOD - Beer, Bitches & Blood
Having uploading this onto my PS3 it's now my soundtrack for Wipeout HD and Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars. It makes an amazing soundtrack for blowing things up and scoring goals.

Keeper of the seven keys parts one and two, and before that it was a blues brothers live album, can't remember which one.

Alice in chains - Played 3 times consecutively.

I can't get over how good it is. The art, the partnership of the new singer, the lyrics (especialy the lyrics), the guitar tone, the re-birth of something beautiful......

La-ka-pow. Amazing.

Going to play it another 3 times for my next post.

Wintersun - Wintersun

Finnish awesomeness, if you like Ensiferum then check these out.

Blind Guardian - Live Disk 1

One of the few live albums i listen to constantly

Slayer - World Painted Blood

Not that exciting, on the slayer scale it rates a 5/10 headbangs compared to their other stuff.

Opeth, Damnation, it's a lovely album.

Opeth, Blackwater Park, it's an awesome album.

Slayer, South of Heaven, one of my faves of all time, takes me back to school when I used to have it on tape with my crappy Walkman, good times!
