How's it going? Thought I'd just quickly introduce myself as I am new to the forum..
I'm Al from Turbo-Laser. You probably haven't heard much about us, we're just recording our debut album so will hopefully have something new and exciting for you all later on this year..
I live in Thatcham and as well as playing some guitar and stuff, I'm generally into listening to oldschool metal, Fast cars (not that I've really got one at the minute), Not as fast cars (must be getting older), Watching occasional movies, eating meat and getting drunk.
Welcome to the forum. I also like Turbo Laser, even more so now that you state your interests are eating meat and getting drunk. There are no finer pass times.
Eating Meat on the BBQ, Getting Drunk and shooting air guns is probably slightly more fun than just getting drunk and eating meat.
Just recently discovered, swan slimline filtertips fit a .22 air pistol perfectly and are great for shooting mates with.. Usually ends up with a punch in the arm, but worth a laugh, leave a nice mark at short range..
Anyway, off on a tangent there..
I'm also really looking forward to the album too, but christ does it take ages.. Every time I listen to things, there's more to be done. Anyway, hopefully we'll have pretty much beaten it by October as we've got another decent stint in the studio coming up.
We're at the stage now where I'm looking for someone that's good at graphic design to help with the CD. The guy that was up for it has just got a job at Polydor (for no pay) and seems to be pretty flat out with other stuff recently so I kinda figure I may as well start looking elsewhere as time is pressing on.. We're willing to pay good money for someone that is good, if that applies to you or anyone you know, then drop me a line and we should have a chat.
Anyway, almost time for the grind.. Best have a shit and a shower

I'm sure there are going to be several people that will regret you passing that info on. Several of us are off to my bungalow at the weekend. There are a couple of air rifles down there and I'm very interested to try this out. Cheers.
Some of Inkwolfs stuff looks pretty cool. Definatately worth an e-mail I must say..
As far as Michael Jackson is concerned, I don't reckon I'll be using him. Looks like it's from the Thriller or something? The Seahorse on the other hand I was quite tempted with..
As far as Turbo-Laser stuff on the net goes, there isn't any. We have up until now recorded several bad quality demos which used to be on MySpace but I took em off when we decided we were gonna record an album. Instead, we did a demo of the Blockbuster theme tune to fill the gap short term. This got boring quite quickly so we thought we'd record an album trailer using some of the earliest backing track from the album. However, now I've written this, I might upload it back onto Myspace just for the fuck of it. Anyway, all the other stuff we're doing in the studio isn't quite finished and I kinda want to keep that unheard until we're ready to go..
There is a version of Planet X kicking about on the net, it's on the Downtown Metal compilation but sounds really bad so I keep that one quiet. After all it is a demo, and a badly recorded one at that so why they wanted it on a compilation I don't know.
Anyway, Jibba Jibba.. Air rifles.. - Nice.. The thing with Slimline filter tips is that they are only accurate over a distance of about 6 inches. After that they tend to either go in any direction or just explode into strips of fluffy white stuff.
But then, who knows, it might be December before everything comes together. We've never recorded anything in the studio before now so it's been an epic journey so far.
The deeper we get into it the more stuff we find that needs to be done. We've incorporated a lot of skits and other parts to the album so it should be quite cool, but we never really realised how long all these little bits take. Then again, we've scrimped on nothing, we've even got an actress in to play The Queen on the intro skit to Jungle Mission
Anyway, as far as gigs go, we feel so far away from getting our shit together to play this stuff live. We're really a duo, so up until now have just been writing songs at home and demo-ing them really badly ourselves.
Of course we needed people to record the album, so we have a drummer and bass player but so far just for the purpose of recording of the album. We've been so busy writing and recording stuff this year, we haven't even really started to get our head around playing this live with a band. I guess we'll figure that one out once this is all done and we have time to spare.
Sounds like this album will be quite an experience to listen to :D
I rarely visit Reading or go to gigs as it's a pain in the arse sometimes to get back to Windsor from especially if they start late at night, it would be handy if i had a car but then i wouldn't be able to have a drink so it's annoying. A teleportation machine is what i need.
But Reading is a nice place whenever i can be arsed to go there which ain't often. Last time i was there though was to visit the Army Recruitment place a few months back.
We've got a couple of weekends coming up in the studio. Think I might try and get one of our tracks finished and get a studio mix on the net as an album preview..
