Sorry to whore myself here, but I've been building this website for the last few months and it's finally at a stage where I can start to tell people it exists.
There's shitloads of ironing out that I'm yet to do, but that will come in time.
I like this blog. Mainly as I also enjoy films that are so bad they are good as well as the work of John Saxon. I think The Bees was one of his best films, it had a most amusing plot and ending. Performance wise, you can't beat The A Team episode Children of Jamestown, where Mr Saxon plays a cult leader. His style of showing emotion, like a robot that doesn't understand but is trying to copy human behavior, works well as a nutty Cult boss. Here is a date for your diary, Monday night, Sci-Fi, 22:50 ish, War Wolves. John Saxons latest film. Also has Tim Thomerson in it. I don't care care what Imdb says about it, I'll be looking forward to it, the V+ has been set.
Anyway, as for your blog, I enjoyed reading it. I liked the way you looked past the budget and crap acting and passed comment that the plot was good. This happens a lot with films like this, a great idea just badly done. I also liked the line "Logistical or budgetary obstacles are clumsily stumbled through rather than gracefully overcome". I was please to see that you picked up on this key element of crap film making, it shows that you are a true genre fan. I found your writting to be both amusing and informative, not too long but enough there to get the message across without becoming boring. Nice work, I'll add this to my favorites list. I have a question though, are those 5 tiny asterixes, at the bottom of the review, your rating for the film or are they just to split the review from the additional infomation section?

Wasn't john saxon the bad guy in battle beyond the stars? That was a top movie with a load of famous people...johnboy from the waltons, hannibal from the a-team and mr webster from superman 3.
A splendid list, I agree with all points. Esspecially regarding the giant animal genre. It is a classic topic for bad films makers, some do it well, some don't but it always gives a bad film a bit of an interest spike. For me, it is the best genre for the low bugdet film to tackle and make interestin. Well, with the exception of Raging Sharks. That was quite disapointing.
I would also add poor editing / continuity to the list. More so with the older films but sometimes you would see actor A talking with actor B yet when it goes to a head and shoulders shot, one has a nice sunny day in the backround and the other has rain. Mega Shark is a fine example of poor editing given the amount of long/ awkward pauses at the end of some scenes, plus the "It rises" bit. That should really have come as the shark was actually rising rather than about 2 minutes after it was on the surface.
I had a read of the other updates to the blog too. Some good stuff in there. I found this torrent for you. The tracker says it has 3 seeds so it may take a while but it should eventualy work.
