You do know that the bread is supposed to go the other way round in that toastie maker right? Good effort though, looks interesting but slightly under done. What else did you try? I love cheese and bean toasties. Simply but good.

Chorizo, red onion, Encona sauce and mozzarella in eggy bread was the best toastie I've ever made. The eggy bread makes a bit of a mess when you close the toasty maker, but well worth it.

Yup. Paprika (in the sausage), red onion and Encona sauce are three flavours that were made for eachother. I might throw in some chunks of garlic next time too.

Surprisingly that one tasted very bad. We also had jalapenos. NOT good.

I'd like to continue with this. That is a poor effort of making a toastie. Does nobody remove the crusts when they make toasties any more?

I also noticed a severe lack of butter on the outside of the bread.

I find crust removal depends on the bread used. In this case, the Warburtons Toastie Loaf, I'd say yes, remove the crust. The slices are larger than most other sliced bread, which is great for toasting but not ideal for toasties. However, they do a smaller version of the Toastie loaf, with half sized slices, which fit perfectly into most toasties machines, with the crust on. The benifit of leaving the crust on is that the toastie can be overloaded, to give a more substantial pouch of filling, with a much reduced risk of side bursting.

My Finnish girlfriend doesn't like Marmite, i think it's because she is Scandanavian and doesn't quite "get it". Anyway i was surfing for marmite when i found this.

Marmite basted chicken.

I do something similar to this with roast chicken. I rub gravey granules into the skin before roasting. Its very tasty indeed.
